East Anacapa Trails

The surface of East Anacapa Island is traversed by the East Anacapa Nature Trail, which runs across the island in approximately a figure eight shape. A section of the trail is shown below.

The trails on East Anacapa Island are about 1.5-2 miles long, and are generally flat and easy to hike.

In places the trail leads through the low lying vegetation on the island.

The island is not perfectly flat, but the terrain is gently rolling.

This view, from a western section of the trail looks east across the picnic area toward several of the island's buildings and the lighthouse on the island's eastern point.

The East Anacapa lighthouse is one of the most scenic on the Pacific coast. A section of the trail leads up the small hill to the lighthouse.

This view is from the trail in front of the lighthouse, looking west. In addition to the buildings of East Anacapa Island, West Anacapa Island can be seen in the center of the picture, and Santa Cruz Island can be see on the horizon.
